10 Unique Easter Gift Ideas for Kids

Easter is approaching and many of you may be wondering what the Easter Bunny will bring for your little ones this year--if only it were that easy!

Growing up, Easter was always a fun family holiday. We always got candy, a small toy like a kite, jump rope,  bubbles or sidewalk chalk and a practical gift of Sunday attire to wear to church. On occasion, the Easter Bunny would leave a fun family gift that we could all use.

As parents, it's sometimes difficult to stray from the traditional candy and  little toys that don't last but a day. Although, in my opinion, you can never go wrong with candy!

BUT--if you're looking for a way to cut down on the Easter sweets or mix it up, we've come up with 10 unique Easter gift ideas you probably haven't seen before! Check out the list below and leave your comments on how you've mixed it up--we'd love to hear your ideas!

1. Great Big Outdoor Play Ball

This great big inflatable ball is the perfect Easter gift idea for children of all ages and is meant for rolling, racing and even climbing inside. This big ball will make for hours of bouncy fun with the family and give you all a chance to capitalize on the incoming warm weather.

2. Bilibo

Targeted for younger children, the Bilibo, a simple toy made in Sweden, encourages creativity. The uses for this intriguing toy is limitless with your child's imagination. Uses for the Bilibo include using it as a sled, in the pool or tub, to stand on, as a hat or to sit and spin in and many more. Kids love the simplicity and are entertained for hours in or outdoors.

3. Mini Frisbee Golf

If you have older children, this is an active game that will get everyone involved and is also a great game for adults at a family or neighborhood summer BBQ.

4. Magnet Tins

You may want to take these cute and quiet tins to keep your little ones occupied at church, the grocery store or at a doctor's appointment. These magnet tins make for easy carry, storage and play and come in a variety of themes which include Cars, Disney Princesses, Curious George, Farm Animals, Finding Nemo and Dora.

5. Glitter Side Walk Chalk

Okay, this one is more of a twist on a traditional Easter gift idea, but what girl can resist glittery side walk chalk!  Along with giving your little one an incentive to play outside, sidewalk chalk will help her hone her creativity and artistic talents. Perhaps a game of hopscotch will even tap into getting active!

6. Dress-up Costumes

I know three little boys who love to play dress up! In fact they probably have 10 costumes to change in and out of.  The plus side of getting dress-up costumes is that you may be able to use them later this year for Halloween--double the benefit! This cute Melissa & Doug costume set includes a fireman, construction worker and train engineer.

7. Mermaid Fin Swim

For all those summer pool outings and family vacations coming up, this fun set of mermaid fins will be put to good use! The one-fin design will have your little girl flipping her fins like a real mermaid.

8. Plastic Pit Balls

You may be thinking, this isn't unique at all, but hear me out! These plastic balls would be fantastic to put in a kiddie pool or while they are bathing to add extra excitement. You could also try some of them in a pack n' play for your toddler.

9. Plui

For your infant and toddlers during bath time,  the Plui is also a Swedish toy and is fun to use to create a shower of fun in the tub. When you place your finger over the hole at the top the water is sealed inside but when you release  a rush of water comes out like a shower.

This is one of my favorite unique Easter gift ideas! This cardboard cottage is  beckoning  your child to add color and character to the outside with their favorite crayons and markers. When they're done, they can play for hours! This option makes for a smaller mess than the usual fort of blankets and sheets over kitchen chairs and couches.

Hope you enjoyed 10 unique Easter gift ideas for kids!  We'd love to hear your ideas--leave your comments on how you've mixed it up!
